Short biography


I am currently a Professor at Department of Information Engineeing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I received my PhD degree from Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004. I am a Fellow of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). My current research interests focus on optimization and learning in 5G and 6G wireless communication systems. I am currently a Member-at-Large of IEEE ComSoc Board of Governors, the Chair of the Steering Committee of IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and a member of the Steering Committees of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and IEEE SmartgridComm Conference. Previously, I served as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, a member of the IEEE ComSoc Fellow Evaluation Standing Committee, the Chair of the Executive Editor Committee of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and many years on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, and Willey Security and Communications Networks Journal. I was the Lead Guest Editor of IEEE JSAC Special Issue on Communications and Data Analytics in Smart Grid, and Guest Editors of IEEE JSTSP Special Issue on Advanced Signal Processing for Reconfigurable Intelligent surface-aided 6G Networks, IEEE IoT Journal Special Issue on Internet-of-Things for Smart Energy Systems, and IEEE Communications Magazine, Feature Topic on New R&D Tools for Communications Research. I have been on the Organizing Committees of many top confereces, including IEEE GLOBECOM, ICC, VTC, SmartGridComm, ICCC, etc. I was the Founding Chair of IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee of Smart Grid Communications, a Co-Chair of IEEE ComSoc Multimedia Communications Technical Committee, Interest Group of Wireless Technology for Multimedia Communications, and the Founding Chair of IEEE ComSoc Graduate Of the Last Decade (GOLD) Committee. I served as an IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer in 2018-2021.

Short biography


Xin Wang received the B.Sc. degree and the M.Sc. degree from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA, in 2004, all in electrical engineering.

From 2004 to 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. In August 2006, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, USA, as an Assistant Professor, then was promoted to a tenured Associate Professor in 2010. He is currently a Distinguished Professor and the Chair of the Department of Communication Science and Engineering, Fudan University, China. He served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Signal Processing Letters. He currently serves as a Senior Area Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. He is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer for the Vehicular Technology Society

Short biography


Tony Q.S. Quek is the Associate Provost (AI & Digital Innovation) and the Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), leading the Wireless Networks and Decision Systems (WNDS) Group. He is the Director of Future Communications R&D Programme, ST Engineering Distinguished Professor, and Deputy Director of the SUTD-ZJU IDEA. He is also the co-founder of Silence Laboratories and NeuroRAN. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, respectively. At MIT, he earned the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is a IEEE Fellow , a WWRF Fellow, and a Fellow of Academy of Engineering Singapore. His current research interests include wireless communications and networking, network intelligence, non-terrestrial networks, open radio access networks, AI-RAN, and 6G.
